DWTS Hair!

I've always enjoyed watching Dancing with the Stars. I pretty much just look at the hair styles the entire time :)

 Love Chelsea Kanes Hair!

Also, I was a bit shocked at the roots going on with Lacey.... but it's growing on me! Kinda like it!
Cheryl (Right) always looks gorgeous!

What's your opinion??

True Life Tuesday

2 weeks ago I took Hailie Heinrich to Publix and she got to sit in the big girl seat in the shopping cart for the first time. She LOVED it! She squeeled and talked to everyone. She was still a tiny bit wobly, so Mommy had to do all of her shopping with one hand on little peanuts back.

Happy Tuesday! Take some time to soak up the simple happy moments of life!

My Fave Monday!

Oh beloved Freeze and Shine, how you have made hair hold tight to styles for years now! This strong spray is a staple in my wedding kit. It holds curls made with the curling iron like a champ. I take sections of any size and spray them generously with freeze and shine, then I curl with a curing iron or flat iron. (Don't be afraid of the slight crackling sound, it's perfectly fine.) I also use this spray to spray finished looks, it just adds a layer of extra support.

Jessica and Ryan's Winter Garden Wedding

I have to say that the moment I met both of these great people, I've been a huge fan. Ryan and Jessica are just fun. They both light up a room and they're the definition of friendly.

Both members of this beautiful union grew up with all of my Clermont friends. They have the most unique style. The entire day of their wedding I was constantly blown away by how Ryan and Jessica put their unique spin on every detail.
(My southern heart skipped a beat when I walked into the ceremony and a family bluegrass band was playing in the lobby!)
Jessica's vintage look was timeless. Her dress, mixed with the ceremony held at The Garden Theater, mixed with romantic side swept hair = magical! I had an absolute blast being a part of the Kelly's special day!

Thanks Jessica for trusting me with making your hair fit the vision for this special day in the story of your life! I couldn't be happier for two truely wonderful people!

True Life Tuesday

Wouldn't you know it.... my sweet Daughter Hailie has no hair, and her Momma is a Hair Stylist. She has endless amounts of hair bows and I will continue to paste them to her sweet head with headbands while I wait for God to cue those little follicles to strut their stuff :)

She wants to hold, touch, and bite down on everything in sight. She gets board these days and wants to squirm when I change her diaper so I've been handing her the hairbrush and I tell her to "brush her hair". It actually comes out of my mouth sounding more like "brusser hair". (The craziest baby/southern accent has popped up ever since August 30th, 2010) When I show her how to do it with her tiny hand holding the brush, I say "Oh seeee sooo preeeedy". And a huge smile lights up that little chunky cheeked face. The past few days she has been holding the brush to her head and waiting for me to say how pretty she is.

Enjoy :)

Jannae

When my best friend Carly started working as a nurse at Arnold Palmer Hospital I was so inspired by the way she loved what she did and how the children and families she came to know touched her heart. I often heard about a special baby boy named Camden Kibler. Camden was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) at four months. Carly was touched by how strong this little guy was. She told me often that the nurses nicknamed him "Man Baby" because he was so tough during his treatments that he never cried. She also told me about his sweet parents and how special the whole family was.

The disease was just to aggressive for his little body and on August 8th, 2008 sweet Camden passed away in the arms of his sweet, loving parents. The following February Carly and her Friend Sarah, who also was a nurse close to the Kibler's, Ran the Gasparilla Marathon in honor of Camden.

Not long after the race Sarah referred Camden's Mom in to see me at the salon. The first time I colored Jannae's hair I knew she was special. She is one of those people in life, you just find easy to love. That night we talked about Sarah, Carly and her sweet baby. I told her that I heard of how special he was and how he had such strength. I constantly thought about the Kibler's and would always ask Carly for updates. I was amazed to hear how his little life touched so many people. (Read about Camden's life at http://www.camdensjourney.com/.)

From the very beginning of my relationship with Jannae I knew her goal with her hair was to cut it and donate it to "Wigs for Kids". This past week, I had the honor of coloring and cutting Jannae's hair so she could donate her 15 inches of hair at the St. Baldrick's Event at her Husband's Fire Station. (Check it out here, there is still time to donate money https://www.stbaldricks.org/donate/to/eventid/4898/eventyear/2011)

After the first of the year I started going to Jannae's house to watch The Bachelor :) Since then I've gotten to know more about who she is. She is the warmest person I've ever met. She is giving, and has the greatest heart. She is a beautiful Mother to Kendall her little girl. She is fun and so conscious of the simple things in life. She's truely one of the most beautiful people inside and out that I have ever known. I am inspired by the way Jannae and her husband Stephen devote their lives to raising money for pediatric cancer research.

I feel relationships are what life is all about. I cherish that God has given me Jannae because He knew I would need her. I'm forever thankful for her advice in mothering and how to move through life with the loss of a loved one. I cherish the genuine friend and person she is. I feel like I've known her forever and look forward to many years of friendship ahead!

My FAVE Monday!

OK. I've been trying to find the cap to this amazing product. Since this is my faveeee hairspray of all time I wanted to make sure I did it justice in the photo!!! Well... I give up. You lovely girls need to know about this jewel, even if the bottle is half dressed. I have used it for years! It's Paul Mitchell Extra Body Firm Finishing Spray. I use it every day on myself, and of course I use it on all of my brides to finish their wedding day look.

Why I adore it:
#1 I go days sometimes without washing my hair. And I can use this each day to make my curls last and my hair never ends up with a hairspray build up.
#2 It has flexible hold if you just use a bit, and it will have massive humidity resistant hold if you use more.
#3 It helps me achieve my dream of "big hott hair"
#4 It's made by the people who made me a Professional Stylist :)

*This spray is not what I use when using a curling iron, this is just to set finished looks.
*Also make sure to pick it up at a professional salon, not Publix or Walmart (it could be a fake and more money)

Me hugging my best friend Carly with the Fave in my hand the day of her wedding :)

Jessica and I (another one of my besties) the day of her wedding. The Fave was used to keep both of our styles rockin'

I use it to set all sizes of "poofs"

Long-lasting, High-shine GORGEOUS!

Tyler and Krisia

I met Tyler about five years ago. He was the really tall guy at church until my then boyfriend (Chad) introduced us and he became a good friend of mine. Tyler and Chad went to college together and since he was one of Chad's favorite people, we were with Tyler at least twice a week. Once you meet Tyler, you completely understand that he is just a sincere, nice guy. He knows lots about fishing, cookware and all of the luxurious things in life. (He seriously can tell you the best cookware/kitchen gear to purchase). Not only is he a wealth of information, he has a heart of gold. Tyler has been a staple friend. He was even one of Chad's groomsmen in our wedding.

(The ac was broken at my reception. Lord knows Tyler was completely roasting in that tux..what a sport for dancing it up with me anyways!)
Around the time of our wedding Tyler snagged him a lady! "A gorgeous Latin girl" he worked with :)

I'm pretty sure I met her the week after we got back from our honeymoon. Right off the bat, I knew Krisia was straight up wonderful! She is a genuine, sweet soul. She is kind hearted, beautiful and nurturing. She can also fish with the best of 'em! From the moment I met her, I knew she was a great catch for Tyler.

When Krisia called and told me she was engaged I screamed with excitement super loud! Of course I instantly couldn't stop thinking about how her awesomely gorgeous hair would look for her big day.

This special couple was the definition of beautiful at their November wedding. Krisia has hair that every girl is envious of. It's shiny, and can curl beautifully with hardly any effort. She wanted an effortless romantic up do. Notice the veil?? She borrowed it from yours truly! (yes, I took it out of the preserved box... I couldn't help it :)

The comb is meant to sit on top of the head and is super wide.... a real booger to hide in a low up do. Because of the way the comb is shaped I had to make sure it had tons of support. I actually used her own hair to wrap it into the up do. After the ceremony it took me less than 5 minutes to take it out and fix it back for the reception.

Below is a picture of what the comb looks like. You can see that when it's placed upside down there is no security for it to stay in place. The moral of the story is; No matter what veil you have your heart set on wearing... I can figure something out to make it work! In fact my heart is full of excitement when I can work a little magic.

If you know me, or have read the info about me on my blog, I really really love to dance. So, I want my brides to be able to dance their hearts without a care as to the gorgeousness that is their wedding day hair art.

Soon after Krisia came into my life, she celebrated my 22nd birthday with me. On the sweet birthday card she wrote, "I hope to enjoy many years of friendship with you". My heart was full of even more gratitude after reading that. I feel very blessed to know such sweet people and to have seen the beauty of God bringing two great people together. Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Smith! You both are very loved.

(Also, the beautiful images from their wedding were taken by  my friend Brandy Burridge  ...  who else would my best friends choose for the most importnat pictures of their lives!! ) Check her out at www.brandyburridge.com
