I met Tyler about five years ago. He was the really tall guy at church until my then boyfriend (Chad) introduced us and he became a good friend of mine. Tyler and Chad went to college together and since he was one of Chad's favorite people, we were with Tyler at least twice a week. Once you meet Tyler, you completely understand that he is just a sincere, nice guy. He knows lots about fishing, cookware and all of the luxurious things in life. (He seriously can tell you the best cookware/kitchen gear to purchase). Not only is he a wealth of information, he has a heart of gold. Tyler has been a staple friend. He was even one of Chad's groomsmen in our wedding.
(The ac was broken at my reception. Lord knows Tyler was completely roasting in that tux..what a sport for dancing it up with me anyways!)
Around the time of our wedding Tyler snagged him a lady! "A gorgeous Latin girl" he worked with :)
I'm pretty sure I met her the week after we got back from our honeymoon. Right off the bat, I knew Krisia was straight up wonderful! She is a genuine, sweet soul. She is kind hearted, beautiful and nurturing. She can also fish with the best of 'em! From the moment I met her, I knew she was a great catch for Tyler.
When Krisia called and told me she was engaged I screamed with excitement super loud! Of course I instantly couldn't stop thinking about how her awesomely gorgeous hair would look for her big day.
This special couple was the definition of beautiful at their November wedding. Krisia has hair that every girl is envious of. It's shiny, and can curl beautifully with hardly any effort. She wanted an effortless romantic up do. Notice the veil?? She borrowed it from yours truly! (yes, I took it out of the preserved box... I couldn't help it :)
The comb is meant to sit on top of the head and is super wide.... a real booger to hide in a low up do. Because of the way the comb is shaped I had to make sure it had tons of support. I actually used her own hair to wrap it into the up do. After the ceremony it took me less than 5 minutes to take it out and fix it back for the reception.
Below is a picture of what the comb looks like. You can see that when it's placed upside down there is no security for it to stay in place. The moral of the story is; No matter what veil you have your heart set on wearing... I can figure something out to make it work! In fact my heart is full of excitement when I can work a little magic.
If you know me, or have read the info about me on my blog, I really really love to dance. So, I want my brides to be able to dance their hearts without a care as to the gorgeousness that is their wedding day hair art.
Soon after Krisia came into my life, she celebrated my 22nd birthday with me. On the sweet birthday card she wrote, "I hope to enjoy many years of friendship with you". My heart was full of even more gratitude after reading that. I feel very blessed to know such sweet people and to have seen the beauty of God bringing two great people together. Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Smith! You both are very loved.
(Also, the beautiful images from their wedding were taken by my friend Brandy Burridge ... who else would my best friends choose for the most importnat pictures of their lives!! ) Check her out at
